Note: Comtech Acquired TCS on 2/23/2016

ANNAPOLIS, MD, Mar 04, 2011 -- TeleCommunication Systems, Inc. (TCS) (NASDAQ: TSYS), a world leader in highly reliable and secure mobile communication technology, today announced that U.S. Cellular has extended its agreement to offer "Your Navigator," powered by TCS. Your Navigator is a leading Location Based Services (LBS) application that transforms any GPS-enabled mobile phone into a personal navigation device with real-time, turn-by-turn visual and audio directions for people on the move. Since 2007, TCS has worked with U.S. Cellular to enhance their customers' mobile experience with precise LBS.

The contract is a two-year Software License Agreement for TCS to provide Your Navigator through U.S. Cellular's feature (BREW) phones. Chicago-based U.S. Cellular is the nation's sixth-largest, full-service wireless carrier, serving 6.1 million customers nationwide. With Your Navigator, users can access business listings and directories, movie theaters and show times, event venues, hotels, landmarks, gas stations -- along with 14 million other points of interest within the U.S. -- with the touch of a button. They may access traffic conditions and weather information 24/7, no matter where they are located.

"We know that our customers are busy and on-the-go, and we love having their backs with helpful applications like Your Navigator," says Joe Settimi, senior director of data strategy and services for U.S. Cellular. "Thanks to the partnership with TCS, we continue to meet our customers' needs by placing user-friendly navigational tools right at their fingertips."

"Our years of service through U.S. Cellular contribute to our growing experience base as a leading provider of location-based services to millions of wireless subscribers," says Steve Petilli, vice president of TCS' navigation and telematics group, TCS. "Throughout this two-year extension, we'll continue to innovate and expand Your Navigator's features and options, offering the very best 'must have' services for U.S. Cellular's customers."
