MELVILLE, N.Y., Sep 13, 2005 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Comtech Telecommunications Corp. (NASDAQ: CMTL) announced today that its Tempe, Arizona-based subsidiary, Comtech EF Data Corp., received an award from a United States Government department totaling approximately $1.4 million for satellite modems and transceivers. The equipment will be used to augment existing systems currently utilized by the U.S. Government.
Included in the award is Comtech's SLM-3650 Satellite Modem and C-Band and Ku-Band Transceivers. The SLM-3650 meets Defense Satellite Communications Systems (DSCS) requirements and is MIL-STD 188-165 (Type B) compliant. Equipped with higher-level modulation and advanced forward error correction, the SLM-3650 is ideal for government applications. The compact C-Band and Ku-Band Transceivers, designed for easy installation in rugged environments, are outfitted with various monitor and control functions allowing easy remote management for superior performance and long-term reliability.
