Comtech Telecommunications Corp. Receives Order for Satellite Communications Equipment From DIRECTV

MELVILLE, N.Y., Jan 16, 2007 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- Comtech Telecommunications Corp. (NASDAQ: CMTL) announced today that its Tempe, Arizona-based subsidiary, Comtech EF Data Corp., received an order for approximately $1.0 million from DIRECTV. The order is a component of the previously announced volume purchase agreement for a minimum of $3.5 million over two years.

Included in the order were Comtech EF Data's DVB-S2 Modulators and 1:1 Redundancy Switches, which will be deployed to power DIRECTV's high-definition television (HDTV) uplink services. The Modulators are based on the emerging satellite transmission standard, DVB-S2, which enables link performance optimization.
