Comtech Telecommunications Corp. Receives Additional Orders for Its Mobile Data Communications Systems

MELVILLE, N.Y., May 21, 2003 (BUSINESS WIRE) --
Comtech Telecommunications Corp. (Nasdaq:CMTL) announced today that it has recently received an aggregate of $6.4 million of new orders for mobile data communications equipment and services.
The orders were awarded to the Company's Maryland-based subsidiary, Comtech Mobile Datacom Corp.
Approximately $3.4 million of the orders relate to fiscal 2003 funding on Comtech Mobile Datacom's eight-year contract with the U.S. Army's Logistics Command. This brings the total orders received on the contract to-date to $64.5 million.
The balance of the orders represents a $3.0 million add-on to a previously announced contract with a major U.S. prime contractor. Comtech Mobile Datacom's efforts on this contract include the supply of mobile terminal transceivers, the lease of satellite capacity, operation of the satellite packet data network, and associated systems and support. The system is being used for a battle command application.
