Comtech Telecommunications Corp. Announces Subsidiary Management Changes

MELVILLE, N.Y.--(BUSINESS WIRE)-- November 5, 2013--Comtech Telecommunications Corp. (Nasdaq: CMTL) announced today certain subsidiary management changes.

Larry Konopelko, President of Comtech PST Corp., will be retiring effective January 31, 2014. Larry joined Comtech PST in 2001, as General Manager, and was promoted to President in 2002. Larry has successfully led Comtech PST during an exciting period and has been instrumental in establishing the business as the leader it is today in the high-power, broadband solid-state amplifier market.

Michael Hrybenko will be taking over as President of Comtech PST upon Larry's retirement. Michael is currently the Vice President of Engineering at Comtech PST. In addition to Michael's leadership role in the technical side of the business, he has also been very involved in Comtech PST's marketing activities.

In commenting on this change, Fred Kornberg, President and Chief Executive Officer of Comtech Telecommunications Corp., noted, "Larry Konopelko has been a great leader at Comtech PST and a valued member of the Comtech executive management team. We wish him the best in retirement and know that he will be missed. I am confident that Mike Hrybenko will pick up where Larry is leaving off. Mike has been one of Larry's key management team members and is well-versed in all aspects of Comtech PST's business. Congratulations to Mike on this significant accomplishment."

Paul Lithgow, President of Comtech Mobile Datacom Corporation, will also be leaving Comtech to return to Arizona and the aerospace industry. Paul joined Comtech in 2008 as part of AeroAstro (which was acquired in connection with the Radyne acquisition). Paul served as President of Comtech AeroAstro until it was wound-down in 2012, and had also become President of Comtech Mobile Datacom the previous year.

Pres Windus will be returning to the role of President at Comtech Mobile Datacom, effective November 6, 2013. Pres previously served as the President of Comtech Mobile Datacom for three years between 2002 and 2005. He also served in various other capacities during his 29-year tenure at Comtech. Paul Lithgow will be available for consultation to ensure a smooth transition.

Mr. Kornberg noted, "Paul Lithgow successfully stabilized the Mobile Datacom business over the past couple of years. We wish him the best as he returns to Arizona and avoids the cross-country commute that he has made over the past several years. We welcome back Pres Windus to Comtech. Pres knows the Mobile Datacom business, as well as Comtech as a whole. As such, I expect a smooth leadership transition in the coming weeks."
