Comtech Telecommunications Corp. Announces $1.0 Million Contract Award for 1KW Power Amplifiers MELVILLE, NY - January 15, 2002 - Comtech Telecommunications Corp. (Nasdaq: CMTL) announced today that its New York subsidiary Comtech PST Corp. has received a contract valued at approximately $1.0 million for solid state, broadband, 1KW power amplifiers from an international customer.

This contract is the production follow-on to a previous development award and is a major part of an upgrade to the end user's communications capability. These Comtech PST amplifiers utilizing LDMOS devices, the latest in solid state transistor technology, provide a smaller and more efficient amplifier than the current industry standards. Deliveries are expected to start in June 2002 and be completed by October 2002.
