Comtech Telecommunications is Among Long Island's Fastest-Growing Technology Companies MELVILLE, NY, September 29, 1999 - Comtech Telecommunications Corp. (Nasdaq: CMTL) is included in the 1999 Long Island Technology Fast Fifty, a list of the 50 fastest-growing technology companies headquartered on Long Island.

The Technology Fast 50 program was inaugurated three years ago and identifies the region's fastest-growing public and private technology companies on the basis of revenues from 1994 through 1998. Eligible companies must produce technology, manufacture a technology-related product, be technology-intensive, use unique technology in problem-solving or devote a high percentage of effort to the research and development of technology.

The program is sponsored by Deloitte & Touche LLP, The Bank of New York, Certilman Balin Adler & Hyman LLP, the Nasdaq-Amex Market Group, Newsday, Invision LLC, the Long Island Technology Center, the Long Island Association, LISTNET, the State University of New York at Stony Brook and the Long Island High Technology Incubator at Stony Brook.

Fred Kornberg, president and chief executive officer of Comtech Telecommunications, said he and his associates were pleased by this latest reflection of the company's accelerating growth.

"We are growing by investing in the kinds of research and development that broadens our capabilities in our core telecommunications businesses, and also by making the kinds of acquisitions that meet our strategic and financial criteria," Mr. Kornberg said. "The results of this have been increasingly impressive in the past year, and our inclusion in the Fast 50 is a clear indication of the gains we have made."

Comtech Telecommunications, Corp., through its operating units, is a broad-based supplier of packet data communications services, state-of-the-art solid state high power amplifiers and high technology satellite and over-the-horizon microwave telecommunication products and systems for commercial and government applications.
