Comtech Names Windus Senior Vice President
Melville, New York - November 5, 1998 - Comtech Telecommunications Corp. (Nasdaq: CMTL) today announced that J. Preston Windus, Jr., has been appointed Senior Vice President, effective November 1, 1998. Previously, Mr. Windus was Vice President and President of Comtech PST and Chief Financial Officer.
Windus will remain as President of Comtech PST Corp., a subsidiary of the Company and will also oversee the administration and operations of the Company's two new subsidiaries, Comtech Mobile Datacom Corp. and Comtech Wireless, Inc.
Windus joined Comtech in 1972 and held various financial positions through 1980. From 1981 to 1989, he served as President of Comtech Systems, Inc., a subsidiary of the Company that designs, manufactures and installs telecommunication systems and equipment for domestic and international applications.
Windus was President and Chief Operating Officer of Fairchild Data Corporation, a subsidiary of The Fairchild Corporation through 1993. During his four year tenure there, he managed an aggressive international business strategy and was responsible for a successful corporate restructuring and expansion program.
