MELVILLE, N.Y. - May 7, 2002 - Comtech Telecommunications Corp. (Nasdaq: CMTL) announced today that its Comtech Systems, Inc. subsidiary has received in excess of $3 million in new orders for satellite and over-the-horizon communication systems. Included in the new orders are (i) a digital over-the-horizon microwave communication system for PEMEX, the national oil company of Mexico, (ii) a new over-the-horizon antenna facility for the Bahamas Telephone Company and (iii) C-Band CSAT transceivers to be used in a large communications system being installed in South America by Alcatel Space Industries of France.
Comtech Systems was selected to provide these systems largely due to its worldwide reputation for providing advanced satellite and over-the-horizon systems, its on-time record and the ability to meet stringent specifications. The C-Band CSAT transceivers are being supplied by Comtech Systems' sister company, Comtech EF Data Corp.
