Comtech Telecommunications Corp. Awarded $1.2 Million Modem Order to Support U.S. Government Satellite Network
MELVILLE, N.Y.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--
June 27, 2012--Comtech Telecommunications Corp. (NASDAQ: CMTL) announced
today that its Tempe, Arizona-based subsidiary, Comtech EF Data Corp.,
was awarded a $1.2 million order from a government systems integrator.
The order specified SLM-5650A Satellite Modems, which will be deployed
by the U.S. Government to support a satellite-based communications
network.
The SLM-5650A Satellite Modem is compliant with the strict requirements
defined in MIL STD-188-165A, modem types I, II, IV, V and VI for
applications on DSCS, WGS and commercial satellites. Advanced features
are available for the SLM-5650A Satellite Modem, including a Network
Processor module, integration with the Vipersat Management System for
fully automated network and capacity management, and an AES-256 TRANSEC
module that is validated to the FIPS-140-2 NIST standard.
